Sleepy Baby!!

Gavin is on his third day of soothing himself to sleep and it is going amazing!! Jayden and Logan from 4 months on were able to be layed in their beds for naps and bedtime and put themselves to sleep without a fuss. It was so nice!! Gavin has been the total opposite. He is 6 months old and is still wanting to nurse to go to bed and he almost always will wake up the second he leaves my arms and is in his bed. With the other kids needing my attention that was getting really hard. A couple days ago I layed him in his bed when I knew he was tired, instead of nursing him to sleep to see what he would do. He fussed for about a minute and was out!! He has done that since for all naps and bedtime! It has been heaven!! I'm crossing my fingers he keeps it up!!

P.S. This is far from an exciting post, but I it's an accomplishment for me! I thought is was definitely blogworthy!!!

First Day of School

It's here....The First Day of School!!

Kaitlin has been begging for a rolling backpack since the middle of last year and she finally got it thanks to Nana!! She has been rolling it all around the house for a couple days, so today she was thrilled to finally take it to class!

Kaitlin loves the fact that in first grade she gets her very own desk....it was one of the first things she talked about when she got in the car this afternoon. She is going to have a blast in first grade, and I'm so excited to watch her grow and learn.

Because Jayden's birthday is 10 days after the Kindergarten cut off, he is doing another year of Pre-School. It was like he had never left for the summer. He walked in, put his stuff in his cubby and went to sit down in his square...it was second nature to him! What a funny boy!

Here's Logan waiting patiently on the side as Jayden was going into class. Having all the kids home this summer he really missed out on all the alone time with mom, so it will be fun for him to just be home alone with just myself and Gavin!

Fountains

While Michelle was here visiting from Sacramento we took all the kids over to the fountains at Fashion Fair Mall. I don't know why I haven't been there before because the kids had a blast. What a fun way to cool off in this crazy heat!!

It took Logan awhile to get in on the action, but he finally did splash around.

The fountains have rotating cycles of how the water is going to come out. Jayden was looking for the water to come up and instead he got it on the back from water coming in a different direction. I thought it was pretty funny because at first he didn't know how he was getting hit because when he would look up the water would be gone!!

Kaitlin and Ellie..one of the few pictures that I could get of any of the kids holding still. I guess that means they were having a good time!!

We are so glad that Michelle and Josh have moved to Sacramento and there are so close! The kids had such a great time playing with Ellie and Olivia! We can't wait for the next visit!

I couldn't forget my Gavin boy...he was very happy just relaxing outside! Of course only until he realized that he was in his carseat, then he was not pleased! =)

Family Movie Night

About a month ago we decided that it would be fun to start doing a weekly Family Movie Night. The kids have had such a good time, and look forward to every Friday. We choose a movie, (not always what Jared and I would choose, but it's for the kids!! =) pop some popcorn and settle in to watch the movie together. This last week Kaitlin really got into it, and wanted to make a poster to hang on the door to remind everyone. It's been a blast and the kids love it!!! This is a fun family activity that I would love to continue for a long time!

First Tooth!!

I put down Gavin for his afternoon nap and when I went to get him up he had a surprise for me....a TOOTH!! I could not believe it considering this morning he did not have one! He has been chewing on everything under the sun lately, but has not been unusually fussy, so I was completely surprised!! Enjoy the picture...it's a little blurry, but he is always smiling and sticking out his tongue! It's too cute. I sure love this little guy!

My very talented sister Michelle is here visiting, and took some amazing pictures of my kids. Here are some of them! Sorry there are so many, but I love them all, and I just couldn't choose! Kiss, Kiss!!

When I walked in my room to check on Gavin during his nap, this is what I found......

Look at those lips! So kissable!! If it wasn't for the fact that he is the lightest sleeper in the world, I would have jumped at the chance to give him a big, fat kiss!!

It's hot, hot, hot!

Today the temperature reached 113 degrees!! What the heck!! Here are some pictures of the kiddos cooling off a couple weeks ago in Nana and Papa's pool.
